The CYT project is being nurtured in a focus area of the Novalis Ubuntu Institute, in Wynberg, an NGO committed to building a vibrant civil society with high ideals for raising awareness around social issues especially the need for quality creative education and youth empowerment and being prepared to challenge, changes and make a significant difference for the betterment of all in the country and beyond its borders.
We practice what we preach!! We therefore indicate in what follows, how we have been challenged to embrace a five-year old project and make the change that matter in the mutual beneficial merger. The new organizational whole has become greater that the sum of its parts!!
The CYT project (Certificate of Youth Trainer) is about the field of youth and training using cooperative programmatic approaches. CYT aims to build capacity (knowledge, skills, attitude and values) to combat negative\detrimental social activities among youth and to put in place positive, wholesome, mental and emotional attitudes with accompanying skills and knowledge to build responsible citizens for our new South African democratizing Endeavour.
- Our mission is to enhance the potential of all young citizens through ‘creative development processes’, and so improve themselves and to make a meaningful contribution to society.
- Our aim is to educate, train and develop community based youth facilitators/animators through recreational, entrepreneurial, and leisure-based activities.
